Quintessence

Designer Libby Langdon was assigned the largest and perhaps most challenging space at the showhouse. The only unfinished room in the house when she first saw it in June, she transformed the almost windowless 1,150 square foot basement into an inviting multipurpose retreat. Originally named the “Rec Room,” Libby approached the design with an upbeat positive attitude, redesignating the sprawling space as the “Fun Room,” a version of an “English clubroom with a modern, sexy twist.”

Libby Langdon is one of only 24 interior designers invited to design a room in the east coast's most prestigious showhome, Traditional Home Magazine's Hampton Designer Showhouse, 2012.

Libby is designing the "Fun Room", the largest space in the Showhouse!  The "Fun Room" is a relaxed retreat reminiscent of an English clubroom with a modern, sexy twist.  Centered on furnishings from her news-making Libby Langdon Upholstered Furniture Collection for Braxton Culler, combined with antiques & accessories supplied by Hampton’s own English Country Antiques, the inviting space is perfect for cocktails and billiards with friends or quiet moments reading a good book.  Libby’s fresh, sleek silhouettes are featured in the Hamptons at English Country Antiques and at retailers nationwide.

DIFFA's Dining by Design, March 22 – March 26, 2012

Hello and Happy Friday!  Here are a few photos of the space I designed for Liebherr’s installation at “Dining by Design”, presented by DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids, which was on display at The Architectural Digest Home Show in New York City last weekend. It's sort of the “Cannes of Tabletop Design” for a really wonderful, worthwhile cause.

Ok, so Christmas is over, you’ve taken down all the fun and festive décor and now you are staring at what seems like a color deprived room that just screams “blah”.   There are lots of cool and inexpensive ways to perk up your home with some quick design updates so for the rest of the winter you’re feeling cozy, comfy and chic!  January is a time for new beginnings, and that includes new decorating schemes, the ideas I’ve listed below can happen within the time frame of just a couple of hours.  Many people are daunted by trying to decorate during the winter months. But there are several things you can do to enliven your house for the rest of the year!
