VH1 July 2008 VH1 Save the Music Concert Dinner

The “Hamptons” and “fun and fabulous parties” are synonymous; gorgeous homes, fantastic food, sensational settings and great people mix perfectly to create memorable, magical events. I’m an interior designer but I love to entertain, cook and host parties just as much as I love designing beautiful surroundings. This past weekend I designed the post concert private dinner for the VH1 Save the Music Concert at Morris and Jaci Reid’s home in Easthampton, NY.

In looking at trends I find it just as helpful to see what’s on its way out from the last season as what is on its way in for this next. The exciting thing about the High Point Market is the opportunity to see what trends will be impacting the consumer in the next year and a half. I’ll be there this April to get the inside scoop, but here are the trends I see reaching the consumer, as well as retail outlets, right now.

Summer’s over and it’s time to cover the grill, store the porch furniture and head indoors. All outdoor relaxing during the lazy days of summer has now turned to watching football on TV, curling up under a cozy throw and reading a great book or watching a wonderful movie. Fall is the perfect time of the year to makeover your basement, it’s a manageable project, there are simple things you can do that will completely transform it and it creates an entirely new area to gather when activities move inside the house. Roll up your sleeves for a couple of weekends and add valuable square footage and comfy living space to your home.
